Import and export projects
Export an entire project as a single file to keep it, or import an exported file back as a new project. You can also export a single entity as a 3D model file. On 2026-10-29 on oasisw.ai, we exported a project with 2 scenes and 14 assets (physics-1029) and then imported that file back to check the result (1 run).
Export
Entire project: .zip
- In the Projects list on the oasisw.ai dashboard, click ⋯ in the bottom-right corner of the project card.
- Click Export (.zip) in the menu. The same menu also has Open in editor, Collaborators, Project settings, Duplicate, Make public, Transfer ownership, and Delete.
- After a moment,
Exported.appears at the bottom of the screen andproject-name.oasisw.zipdownloads (in our test,physics-1029.oasisw.zip, about 5.4 MB).
The zip contained the following.
| Included | Not included |
|---|---|
Project name and description, some project settings (project.json)All scenes and scene names ( scenes.json)Asset list and folder structure ( assets.json)Original asset files: scripts, images, sounds, fonts, physics engine files ( files/) | Checkpoint and branch history. The imported project had a single main branch and no checkpointsPublished builds |
If you only need a copy within the same workspace, Duplicate is faster. Pending Test the result of Duplicate
Single entity: GLB, USDZ
Right-click an entity in HIERARCHY → Export As... to see GLB and USDZ. These export the entity's shape as a model file you can use in other 3D programs or AR viewers. Scripts and physics are not included.
Clicking an item downloads the file right away, with no confirmation. In a test on 2026-10-30, exporting the default scene's Box downloaded Box.glb (2,416 B) and Box.usdz (4,027 B). The GLB contained the node Box, 1 mesh, and the material Default Material (1 run).
Import
- Click Import in the top-right corner of the dashboard. The Import project window opens.
- At the top, choose Import from file. Choosing Blank project is the same as creating a new project.
- Drag a file onto the File to import area or click Choose file.
- Once a file is chosen, the area shows the file name and Choose another file, and
Assets, scenes, and the project name come from the file.appears below. - Click Import. After the
Uploading… 100%progress bar fills, the editor for the new project opens with the SCENES window. In our test, a 5.4 MB file finished in under 20 seconds (1 run).
In our test, the imported project appeared as one more entry in the list with the same name as the original, physics-1029 (project count 10 → 11), and its visibility was Private. The 2 scenes, scene names, entity layout, and 14 assets were unchanged, and in ▶ Launch the physics (a falling box) and scripts (color changes on collision) worked as before. Because the names are the same and easy to confuse, rename the project after importing.
According to the description in the window, it accepts two kinds of files.
| File | Result |
|---|---|
Exported project (.zip) | Imports all assets and scenes, and uses the project name from the file. Accepts zips exported from OasisW and zips exported from other editors based on the same engine |
Scene file (.json) | Creates a new project from a single scene |
Projects from other engines
There is no feature for importing Unity, Unreal, or Godot projects as they are. Export models as .glb/.fbx and upload them with Upload files, and rewrite scripts in the OasisW format (Scripting overview and the engine API).
