Section 4. AI GAME BUILDER Concept Pending 4

Credits

Prompts sent to AI GAME BUILDER use credits. Failed prompts also use credits. Editing by hand uses no credits. This page explains this principle and how to get the same result with fewer prompts. Check amounts and plans on the pricing page.

How many credits one prompt uses: Pending after the billing unit is finalized. The time a prompt took varied widely with the size of the task. Making the first game took 6 to 10 minutes, and prompts that only asked for an explanation took 40 seconds to 1 minute.

How to save prompts

Here is what we observed in tests for each approach. These tests didn't compare the approaches against each other by number of prompts.

ApproachWhat we observed
Make changes by hand when you know the exact valueChanging the ball's top speed by hand meant editing a single field. Asking the AI to do the same costs a prompt, and in some cases it changed things we didn't ask for
If you don't know where a value is, ask the AI once, then change it by handWhen we asked where it was and added "Don't change anything," the AI named the entity and field in about 1 minute (tested once). After that, changing the value any number of times costs no prompts
Send several defects in one prompt as a numbered listIn 2 cases, a prompt listing 3 defects fixed all 3 at once. In 2 of 4 such prompts, one more prompt to continue was needed
Ask the AI to continue unfinished work rather than starting overIn all 3 runs where we asked the AI to continue, it finished the remaining work. One continue prompt took 6 to 10 minutes

Failed prompts also use credits, so repeating a prompt that isn't improving with the same wording only uses up credits without results. What to write in a prompt is covered in Principles for writing prompts.

When you run out of credits

Pending To be written once the behavior when credits run out (whether manual editing and Launch still work, what the AI panel shows) and how to top up credits are decided
